Two people were killed in a crash Saturday night on Knox Bridge Highway.
According to Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker:
Deputies responded to the three-vehicle incident Saturday night at about 9 p.m. on Knox Bridge Highway just west of Ga. Highway 108.
A preliminary investigation indicates a BMW traveling west on Knox Bridge crossed the center line while traveling through a curve striking a Honda Fit traveling eastbound which caused the BMW to lose control. The BMW then crossed the center line and entered the eastbound lane where is was struck on its passenger side by a Honda Accord traveling east toward Canton.
The driver of the BMW, Samuel Joshua Kellogg, 35 of Canton, and the passenger, Jimmy Chester, 55 of Canton, were killed. The driver of the Accord, Brandon Smith, 32, of Canton, was seriously injured and transported to WellStar Kennestone Medical Center. Smith’s 3-year old daughter was also injured and transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Their injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
The driver of the Honda Fit, Lee Fitzpatrick, 57, of Woodstock, was not injured. His mother, however, Roberta Beatty, 101, of Woodstock, was transported to Northside Hospital Cherokee with minor injuries.
The incident is being investigated by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit.
